About me

Welcome to Psychologiepraktijk Vergouwe
My name is Romano Vergouwe, and I have been working as a psychologist since 2018. In 2024, I completed my training as a GZ psychologist and am now officially registered as a GZ psychologist. I am eager to use my experience and expertise to help you find answers and create the changes you desire in your life.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in treating various psychological issues. I have worked with individuals dealing with personality disorders, PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and addiction. Most of this experience was gained within specialized mental health care (SGGZ).
My approach to psychological treatment
In my view, therapy is about learning to cope with 'unwanted' realities. This may involve significant events from the present or past, as well as thoughts and feelings you would rather not experience. Often, these aspects of our reality feel like something we must avoid, suppress, or deny. However, this can trap you in a cycle of suffering and tension. In therapy, I believe it is important to start by exploring and accepting that 'unwanted' reality. Only when we make space for what is truly going on can we work toward change. The process of recognition and acceptance is a key step in breaking free from stuck patterns and developing new ways of dealing with your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
What I can do for you
In my treatment, the focus is on the relationship. The most important thing is that you feel you are in good hands, that you can be yourself, and that together we can find the right path to achieve your goals. I would be happy to help you get to the heart of your issues so that you can make lasting changes based on these insights.
